Vacation if you get laid off!!!!

Make sure you use your vacation before the layoffs happen. You will NOT get paid your unused vacation if you get canned!!!!

When you ask for all your vacation days during this period, your boss and colleagues will know you’ve been faking it and that you are scared to death.

No way, all managers everywhere with headcount left are in hire-to-fire mindset to protect their core talent from RIF requirements later on. Why just vacation when you can take a job, be paid, with mutual understanding you're going to take the bullet for the team and get another severance from another company as soon as they give the go ahead to reduce?

Go to a swanky Vegas resort and gamble to pay for the trip! And then some to throw a layoff party!!!

You should probably use all your vacation days except for a few days that you won't mind losing if you get laid off.

Otherwise, you could lose the whole year's vacation.

Better to go to Hawaii now than gamble on being able to go in August.

What determines "certain you'll get laidoff"??
Position at MPG as GM is heading more towards CAE??

Most people simply don't know and HCAPS aren't the indicator.

But If you didn’t qualify for the VSP, there’s no package to take to get paid for vacation.

If you are that certain you will get laid off, you might as well take the VSP and you can get paid for your vacation days too. You have one more week to ask for the VSP.
I don’t think GM will sit on their hands too long after the 24th. Either way, people that leave or stay will probably be miserable.
