AVGO will hire for sure after the merge, I don't see what's preventing it from hiring former employee. Who said the layoff will be performance based instead of sector based?

  1. Why would you wanna come back
  2. As far as I know layoffs were performance based, if that is the case why would they want to hire you again.

You will want to read your severance agreement or contact hr. They’ might say on a case by case basis if you get a response.

  1. Given how corrupt and inept the company and its leadership is why would you return?
  1. Given how corrupt the company and inept its leadership is they might very flag you as a ‘no rehire’ while providing language that says otherwise.

Ask and let’s us know what you find out.

Imagine being a house cat, your human owner becomes a crack head and cant afford to buy you good food anymore, then they put you in a box and drop you off at a pet shelter... would you want to go back to the same house and people? life is about free choices but some don't have to be as hard.

I know the possibility exists, but was anybody successful at it in the last year or so?
