For those who have been terminated during these fragmented and opaque layoffs, have you had to sign a waiver of some sort in order to receive the severance package? It seems the Federal law (OWBPA and ADEA) is relevant for layoffs for anyone over 40, and what I have heard (2nd and 3rd hand) looks like people have not had more than 15 days to decide.
"These employees must be given 45 days to consider signing the agreement. In addition, these employees must be provided with a tally of the employees (e.g., job titles or position categories) who were terminated, a tally of the employees who were not terminated, the ages of the employees who were terminated, and the ages of the employees who were retained."
I am not a labor law expert by any stretch of the imagination, so am reaching out to better prepared for the very real possibility that my job could also be on the chopping block in the future.
