Thread regarding Western Digital Corp. layoffs

Where's the survey?

Seagate chatter about pausing their employee survey brings to mind the actions of Western Digital, who also appear to have abandoned their own survey once it started to raise some uncomfortable questions. It's all rather disappointing, really. The purpose of these surveys is to gain insights into employee engagement and cultural understanding, with the goal of making improvements for the betterment of everyone.

It's truly disappointing that when companies don't see the value in listening to their employees and making improvements based on their feedback. But hey, why bother with all that when you can just stop the surveys and ignore the concerns of your workforce. After all, that's such a sustainable approach, isn't it? Maybe we should just lower our expectations and be happy with the status quo.

They don’t care but even if they did plan to send the survey, it really is doing for the show. It has always been this way as they don’t implement per the survey says, but the most important is, employees know much better that it is not anonymous. At least, I never put down any true feedback because my manager was a micromanaging type person and he gets upset on his team who disagree with him.

The problem is they didn't say the furlough was so we can avoid layoffs. If they did, morale would be heavily boosted. Who wouldn't want to make a relatively small sacrifice to save the jobs of peers? But they didn't. So, for all we know, we're going to get a furlough AND a pink slip.

I’ll be sure to send you one on Monday. I would take another week off too if it meant saving the actual few important jobs (in like six months from now or whatever I mean).

They don’t care about the employees so it is a waste of keystrokes. Why pretend otherwise?
