I hear stories about people taking a one way ride on an exit / re-entry visa, for various reasons. What’s the consequences of doing so? I believe you will be add to some GCC list and can be picked up when travelling in the future. Not sure how real this is? And other consequences?

Nope. Too many horror stories of repeatedly refusals of resignation and taking many months to exit due to purposeful barriers put in place. The Saudi game is about saving face.
I don't understand why resigning is a dilemma, except of course if you just want to disappear after taking a massive loan or maybe you have done something against policy and you think the company is already on to you. I know of people who has done one or the other. Not sure what happened next. The downside of doing a proper exit: People may feel betrayed and may treat you like you have a contagious disease. They will suddenly have to pull their weight now, their donkey is leaving. I was shunned in my last few weeks. On the other hand, HR was very supportive, I felt they were on my side. I may have lost a few brain cells and years from lifespan, but proud I did it the right way.
Agreed. There’s risk either way. Hardly a crime to leave and not return, and no great shakes to (maybe, even probably not) have to give up going to or transiting gulf states. Versus unpredictable aramco response to resignation. It isn’t a normal company in a normal country.
Saudis does not share this data with other GCC countries. They don’t even share driving records. I doubt you’d have any issues elsewhere.
If things are that bad then cut your losses. I can see why some people just disappear, there is always a risk with trying to do things properly that some Saudi gets offended and you get shafted. The off-boarding process is painful too and they can deduct from your salary as they choose fit.
Those that fraudulently disappear with large loans are just criminals. People like that everywhere unfortunately, more so in this part of the world.
Karma is a beatch! If you're fed up then just quit and move on. It will make you sleep better. Do you want to spend the rest of your life looking over your shoulders?
One guy did not comeback from his vacation, mention issues with visa, short story, receive salary during 3 months and manager reported as resignation, later on was discovered he runs with Saudi and Bahraini loans. Crazy guy, one of his friends told me was contacted to comeback Aramco even.
It is a risky move, you will close the door in MIddle East and banks can follow you where ever yo go.
No issue with it. Tons of people do it. Some due to circumstances, some deliberate.
It's been done many times. I don't really think that other GCC counties give a d-mn.
