Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

Always strive to be more competitive

it's important to keep in mind that companies often have a specific business need or strategy that drives their hiring decisions.

For example, if a company is developing new software products, they may prioritize hiring software engineers with the necessary skill set to accomplish that goal. Conversely, if the company is focused on hardware development, they may prioritize hiring engineers with expertise in hardware, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering.

It's also important to remember that hiring & RIF decisions can be influenced by many factors, such as market demand, competition, and available resources(skillset variability). Sometimes companies may have to make tough decisions about which skills to prioritize in order to stay competitive and meet their business goals.

In any case, it's important to stay adaptable and continue to develop your skills and expertise in your field. This can help you remain competitive in the job market and increase your chances of finding a job that matches your skill set and interests.: @rgu+1lE4bH50

Great post. The only question is do we have enough options at Medtronic to keep our skills updated?

Why? For a lousy 2% raise! Time to leave Medtronic for greener pastures.

Hello MDT spokesperson.

This hopelessly lost company doesn't want to innovate any more. They ship manufacturing jobs to Asia while using their DEI woke badge as a shield for all the terrible things they do to their employees. Don't be fooled by their woke badge. It's a fake woke badge.

I am neither an executive or an HR rep but i always believed this happens everywhere in every company/industry so shared this with all folks.. i followed this model for last 10 yrs and works like charm! more self dependent and self driven than rely on employer! i can control my path not defined by employer (NOte: I was on H1b for 14 yrs)!

Looks like an executive or an HR rep found this website.
Quit justifying the actions of the company to those in the trenches. We get enough of that BS in the useless circlej--k town halls.
