Internal chatters that CBG will be spun off from remain co as well

That is the correct answer, along with making sure SIBG can’t just start selling tape to retailers again.
I’m not sure spinning off CBG would be that much more complicated than spinning off HCBG? Which is complicated don’t get me wrong, but they’re doing it, so it seems plausible they could do the same with CBG.
Plant wise CBG has a lot of factories that are nearly entirely CBG products: Clinton, Cynthiana, Old Hickory and Tonawanda. I’m not as familiar with Juarez, but my understanding is it’s a lot of building and I think it’d be separable. Then Hutchinson would probably be a he messiest one, but I believe one of the plants is heavily consumer (it’s broken into a North and South plant). CBG gets chemicals from the chemical plants, but so does HCBG, so nothing new there. Then also like HCBG CBG has a few odd ends in Menomonie, but this is nothing new to solve either.
Wouldn’t be easy/clean, but I think a fairly similar scale of difficulty to the HCBG spin-off.
Can we send moneyish there? Pretty pretty please?
Its well beyond the rumor chatter stage btw….
As previous post suggests, 3M very vertically integrated with shared assets between BG’s. Spinning of CBG likely tougher than you think as the separation from RemainCo is tough.
I've never worked in CBG, but isn't the business model that CBG largely uses excess capacity from other BG's plants? So if CBG is spun how does that work when they don't make their own product?
It may eventually come to that, but no matter what, such statements are purely rumours at this point ….and definitely not something you would find out from someone who knows someone i.e chatter.
Stop complaining this is the price of winning!!
Maybe MR has a performance goal to bring the share price down to $50. With the HCBG spinoff, it will become a $70 share and spinning off CBG will allow MMM to hit $50.
Announce this and MR can proudly take the title of the person who officially broke up the company and destroyed it in the same sitting.
Unlocking " shareholder value" , are we ??
Yes, not surprised at all. Just a matter of time!!
