Thread regarding Medtronic Inc. layoffs

How does severance work?

Anyone know what the severance will consist of, if PTO/MIP/long term incentives payout, and if you can double dip with unemployment? Trying to get my finances in order prior to the reckoning. Fun times…Good luck to all.

That's much better than the early retirement package. Could you ask for getting laid off? They probably say no.

60 days plus two weeks for every year you have worked for the company.
Fun time ahead

Our smaller competitors will have a fun time laughing on the sidelines and poaching more of our talents after this RIF

I was RIF’d in 2019, it’s 2 weeks of severance per year of service. MIP, if there is one, paid out in June. Cobra option for insurance. I think unemployment varies by state, I couldn’t apply for unemployment until my severance was over. I am still an MDT employee now, in a different role.
