So, is this a new way to layoff, without having to submit WARN - my co-worker was told he had a "skill gap" and no longer fit the role which is ironic since he'd been doing the job successfully for past years. Had a choice for a PIP or take pkg, I believe this happened to another person in our dept a month back. Thinking those type of packages don't count against Cisco's layoff numbers as not actually getting rid of the role but the person.
Anyone else seeing this?

Meraki is not going to have any layoffs - this is the growth engine. This is just BS in this thread.

Hiring freeze effective immediate after Q2 earnings release on Feb 15. Lots of HR folks will be chopped. Who needs them when Cisco is not hiring. Then about 10% chopping block will happen in the remaining area. Btw, Chuckie is hiding out in Atlanta. Maybe he will be chopped too, hahahaha, that would be like my best birthday ever!

My scheduled day-long interview with the Meraki team, scheduled for 2/15, was just canceled this morning; the recruiter called to inform me and said the position was closed.

Feb 15 during Q2 earnings release. This time expect an LR of 7-10%.
