Big year ahead not week now
- 5k redundancies announced in Jan, now 6k announced for manufacturing again on top of that, share price is nose diving like a stuka dive bomber
More jobs cut than sandpaper discs made at Atherstone soon youth
Anuva 6k jobs going
You keep saying big week ahead. Yet nothing’s happened. A few layoffs here and there are not news. I hope there are broad layoffs in Europe like in the 7-10k range, blue and white. It will considerably lighten the company’s burden. Its been in the making for decades. If anyone can do it, monish can. Western Europe can easily be backsourced to Poland gsc.
Get over it plebs, keep swiping in and falling to sleep, it’s what you’re good at
There's plenty of blame to go around and its not helpful but how about we all focus on what we can do to get out of the mess we're in.
And people wonder why 3M Plants are the way they are when you have managers saying disgusting things like that on the comment below, just proves how little people care about their jobs and the people under them and also how its the wrong people that have them jobs, it's a shame whats happening to 3M due to poor management from top level corporate right down to production management. I can only hope that the people that are affected dont struggle to much to get jobs and are strong enough to push through the hardships to come. And try not to let ridiculous comments like that get too you.
The beauty of being a Manager is that you get the same money as the plebs but get to spend all weekend doing fun things and not 12 hr shifts at 3M
We also get to move to new, higher paid jobs if the Plants close. Win win
I can't believe the news today
Oh, I can't close my eyes and make it go away
Somebody say Saturday and Sunday 💰💰💰💰💰💰
For all their bravado, I bet there’s a few Maker folk relieved this evening.
The axe forgets what the tree remembers 🤔
Keep on surviving on that mighty £17 an hour, wow big earner
I’m a survivor keep on surviving 🤣🤣🤣
How much is the hourly salary in dollars Chip
...we get $31 in states for production work
Hey ballin, I love you too don't worry!!
I think button pressing guy is getting a little angry, you’d think that on a massive £17 an hour he’d be really happy 😂😂😂
Good night princess, I love you!!
Night button presser, you get some sleep, try to dream about your new minimum wage job
Look at you, clutching at straws now cause I've made you look stupid 🤣🤣🤣, you said "name a readily available job" which I have done, there is plenty of jobs, i think you need to learn how to job search because if we shut down you wont be far behind. I rest my case. You are the official muppet. My work here is done. Good night, god bless enjoy your bleak and useless career. Thank you.
That’s one job for one person, you really think they’re going to give it to one of you muppets!
Your comment was that there are quite a lot of jobs and you’ve managed to name one, well done you.
Do you have any other skills other than button pressing, heard the Ball Game needs stewards, it’s unpaid and only 2 hours a year but it would look good on your empty CV

Oh look the same agency that does 3m atherstone has got jobs local for £15.20 an hour, that was really hard to find you 🤡🤡🤡 ill let everyone else see how stupid you look 🤣🤣
Name a readily available job locally that isn’t minimum wage ‘button presser’
Didn’t take long for you to bite 😂🤣
That didn't take long🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🎣🎣🎣🎣 if we shut down, it won't be so bad, there's quite a lot of jobs readily available local that im sure that even us "maker button pressers" will be able to get but you'll still be with a company that's on its a*** always worrying whether you'll be losing your job (still on lower money) so please keep us updated on how long you keep your job for also!
Another comment that proves the utter stupidity of the Maker button pressers. It was my understanding that pretty much every shop floor worker at Atherstone was on around £17 an hour.
So you’ve earned ok money for a couple of years and now you’re responsible for the factory closing, something you all must be so proud of.
Please keep us all informed on how your new job search goes
Maker money 🤣🤣🤣 pittance ,I would need a second income if I only got that
It's actually cute how much jealousy there is for how much money we earn in the maker. Just proves how little backbone everyone else in the company has to fight for giving yourself better lives. But hey if we do shut down? At least we were on more money than you jealous muppets!!
Yeah and soon you’ll be in an elite band of minimum wage sh-t house cleaners, good luck with that
At least I’ve got more chance of winning that fight for the supermarket job now I’ve grown a third arm from all the chemical exposure.. How can I be stupid when I’m part of an elite band of operators
You have to pay Maker staff £17 an hour because our life expectancy is reduced from all the chemicals we’re exposed to… mainly from the unicorn Chinese takeaway, the toilets are the hardest working things in Atherstone, give them £17 an hour too!
Absolutely agree, button pressing is definitely worth £17 an hour.
production workers should be paid a bit more at atherstone, that's the problem, they should be on £17 an hour minimum
Correct about the Atherstone Maker. They basically tried to hold the company to ransom, 3M are in the sh*t so we want this much money to help you out. The Management, led by a weak Incapable Production Manager, kept giving in rather than telling them ‘it’s your job, just do it’
Ath needs to go
This is 3Ms opportunity to finally relieve itself of highly ineffective ppl and inefficient ops in west euro. I hope we persevere and rid ourselves of as much fat and wastage as legally possible. Its time.
‘Ballin’ is clearly a disgruntled Atherstone employee who is not earning 60,70k etc
Just remember the people earning that are living there 7! Days a week
Unfortunately it’s a mix of cr-p management and the Maker workers who are responsible for Atherstone closing
I heard things are quite grim at Atherstone this said why is there still people from other areas of the plant earning in excess of 60-70-80-90-100k a year
Well said Martin. Unfortunately the Maker has been doomed for a long time, due in part to the Management but also that area is well renowned for having some of the most useless employees 3M has ever employed
Martin ,out of interest what does a production shift worker get paid hourly
