Is there a point in time where they legally have to give us information regarding benefit continuance information and wether or not we are receiving severance?

Full timers just laid off last week in stores got nothing, no severance as expected.
Was told our store is closing liquidation started and we have heard nothing else. No end date nothing about severance. But the people in corporate that laid off get severance. Us id--ts left closing in a store running wild get nothing.
Word is most recent corporate layoffs. They got 8 weeks severance. So store level employees are probably getting 4 tops. Not worth sticking around for.
Most states are at will employment. So legally they dont have to do anything. If they knew for sure they would offer severance they would say something. But if they arent or trying to delay the announcement its because everyone will leave with no real reason to stay.
I was laid off in August. They first told us that we would keep our benefits for duration of our severance. Then they told us 30 days. But once we received the info packet, it was only two weeks from our last day of employment. We didn't receive the packet until the evening of the last day they had to send it to us. Which in turn also pushed our first severance payment out further.
14 days after the event but essentially your benefits are gone within 30 days unless you choose cobra
