Weird to see what the 3M board is trying to do with Roman.
It's clear something needs to be done NOW - the Board needs to do its job and figure out what went wrong with the culture, new products, advance 3M, and SAP immediately.
They need to take on a very complex turn around led by someone with a clue.
Roman and his goon Patolawala need to go immediately, or the company will be completely destroyed. Maybe these 2 new people can help?

With the addition of 2 new board directors, the BOD can now vote 13 to 0 to not fire Dr. Roman.

I think the board is split into two factions. One group, perhaps over half the board, sees the mess and knows that the ceo and cfo have to go now.
The other faction is blindly loyal to both and can't understand the fuss. This is the problem with boards of directors in America these days. People who are appointed feel loyal to the ceo because that person approved their selection.
We have stalemate and I think it will take more activist investors before enough of the board acts if only out of saving their own cushy jobs.
