Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Associate "Discount" Sucks!

As the years pass, they keep eliminating food items. I think that's where most of our shopping is done. With the recent price hikes, I think we need the discount even more! Example...5-7yrs ago, discount for coffee was dropped. A couple yrs ago the lg can of Great Value donut shop coffee was 6.99, now it's 9.99! Like I tell my HB, every 10% helps. This year, they don't seem to know what gets a discount. On 2/05 I got it on Lay's Stax zesty queso chips but NOT the original flavor? Today I bought a bag of coleslaw mix (fresh produce) and did NOT get a discount?!?!

Snap isn't over only the enhanced portion is. They started with the covid deal. Average allotment was approx. $95 per household and it was only in about 1/2 of the States

Well Snap ends in march. That means people will have to pick and choose instead of buying without concern for the price. About 4% of walmart groceries sales are snap ect. I dont expect layoffs but more cut hours and part time hours. And to think Doug says prices are reasonable. Everyday high prices.

Just swipe your card each time and hope for the best. I notice more clearance items are allowing the 10% discount Better then a stick in the eye

Anyone remember when you could comp with a sales add. Use to be one stop shopping. Its your money , don't throw it away. There was one forum from Doug saying he didnt think prices were high. With what he is making and his detachment He is right. And I'm not going to make an excuse about inflation, walmart's buying power is carelessly used.

That’s why I shop at Aldi and Roundys and Piggly Wiggly. Walmart ISN’T the low price leader they once were. .

I have noticed fewer items receiving the discount of late, which means that the profit margin on those has shrunk so much that if 10% was taken off you'd be getting it below Walmart cost. Welcome to inflation.

Bummer.
