How was DG viewed when at Cisco? Was he a great leader?

The now CEO of a well known Western hard drive manfacturer? Kept the seat warm whilst security product engineering floundered and barely survived. Amazed he got the CEO role, as he was terrible in all hands.
If this is the DG at PAN that is now a Sr VP Engineering, he is awful. All about himself and not the people. He ruined the culture at ZS and is now ruining it at PAN.
