I was expecting them to announce 3M Healthcare as the new name. But now I’m not so sure.
Perhaps the 3M brand is becoming toxic (excuse the pun) with the PFAS and Aereo lawsuits. Maybe they should have a whole new name?
Or maybe they will be purchased and no new name needed?

They will keep 3M in the name. There are so many machines that work based upon that logo on the product. Getting rid of it will be a pretty massive undertaking from day one. Overtime it could change but out the gate I don't see it making much sense.

Monish-co. Word is that he has only agreed to do the dirty work of layoffs to be rewarded with this plum job and then hire a bunch more GE rejects from ge Healthcare.
As far as I understood they want to avoid any connection to 3M. I came to the company a few years ago with an acquisition and until a few weeks it was 3M KCI, now we are asked to concentrate more on the KCI as 3M's reputation is an obstacle on the MSD market in Europe.
So it's really not only the US, also Europe where 3M is not too well-known besides its markets, PFAS and Co. led to unmissable problems.

It will definitely not have 3M anyway in the name or even its "about us" web page. Especially with the veterans still trying to stop the spin.
