Whoever was responsible for over-promoting unqualified people as part of "leadership development" deserves much of the blame. Can't tell you how many mo--ns who knew nothing about ERP implementations had their hands in this disaster.

The lack of commitment is to blame. Transformation is a pain, SAP is just a catalyst. 3M hubris and lack of support for the transformation is what doomed it… not an ERP. Option to stay with an outdated unsupported overextended bunch of applications was not possible, but they wasted the opportunity and added technical debt. Lack of strategy at the corporate level only focusing on the short term wall street expectations.

If anyone cares to investigate, I think history will show MR as being the stooge, while Inge was was the mastermind of this disaster. MR just doesn’t know enough to understand he was played by Inge. Both need to be held accountable for how they lined their own pockets on the back of 3M employees. The BOD needs to be replaced.

You forgot Inge. It was his decision. He made everyone drink the Kool Aid and left.

Ernie Park, Chris Howe, Steve S, many others. Those still at 3M should be fired for the waste of money given to Accenture alone.

SAP and disaster are synonyms.
