Thread regarding 3M layoffs

3M Board is 4th highest paid public company in MN

I found this article interesting. 3M is paying their board of directors the 4th highest in MN public companies at $3.72 million a year.

You would think they would have done a better job, but then again the board is picked by the people at the top of 3M.

They need more than Roman to exit to turn this ship around as the board should have made changes quite awhile ago. They have a hand in 3M’s demise.

EMBARRASSING,, it is, while the worker bees will be fighting tooth and nail for a couple of percent pay raise, the head honchos at st paul's keeping adding GE rejects to the execs and another half a million dollar salary for what,, Tireman getting a fortune for bringing in consultants to use our pay raise for, remember all worker bees the world is striking and going to the gates to protest, the wealth gap is the biggest it has ever been, time we all stand up and be counted. Everyone deserves to have a bit more at a time when gas prices at the pump are through the roof

I'm ok with it if they have done a good job. Unfortunately, they didn't.

The board selection process is a joke and has been since at least the 1990s. Too much decision power in the people already on the board plus the CEO.

Not that I care for the political divide in this country and its nastiness but boards should be open elections and campaigns. This is the only way that people like the German investor can even be heard. Right now, a person is chosen by the board (really CEO) and the board recommends them. Wall Street is guilty here because they only live for the next quarter and prefer people who won't rock the boat at the top but prefer any damage be inflicted on the little people, namely layoffs of people under JG15.

Maybe the guy trying to fix disney (nelson peltz) can come over here and toss mike overboard with his golden life jacket.

This board of directors is not independent and doesn't represent the shareholders best interest just current management. They are beholden to and cronies of 3M Executive leadership. Why would they ki-l the Golden Goose and the Gravy train. That, nor care if Maplewood Center hair is on fire, burning to the ground. They are well compensated to look the other way. Most executives or boards like Fed Ex or Vista would be making structural change to leadership, and cutting Executives and high Salary individuals. Not 3M it is turning into a cesspool retirement home at 3M Center for low energy and productivity that likes to ride the coat tails of Consultants at least current leaders and hire buffers of people so they do not do anything but fluff work. Return to our roots, hah, hard to do that when a good majority of our supposed best and brightest, especially corporate labs are sitting on rear's at home mailing it in and just collecting a salary. This whole company needs a giant kick in their collective arses.
