Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

New trend

If you think you are in a safe store you are wrong. The company is closing stores in waves. We are about to enter wave 5 next week. Secret last minute calls are being made to sms by dms on Wednesday or Thursday nights. No list is announced. As more money is needed. More stores are called and closed. 85% of Northeast got these calls last two weeks. Maybe a dozen stores left now no severance being offered.

What’s the point or benefit of doing it in waves?

I have no idea. This way you can liquidate and maybe stick the people liquidating to deal with the eviction notices and utility shut offs? Not naive enough to reckon those are under any other name but BBBY of Cali, however.

There is no rhyme or reason! The criminals are running the show now! Heard yesterday one of the stores that are not even on the newest list got notice that they are closing what do you make of that! Lies lies and more lies! To all you Dedicated employees past and present God bless you all! We didn’t go looking for this it came looking for us!

I agree with the person who said Bloodbath can't even close properly.

Not real sure what the benefit from a wave shut down is in the long run, but that is the game plan these clowns are running. Closing kits were not shipped to the wrong stores they shipped the wrong wave guys lol. The stores that started today did not get the kits and hung pdf signs. On the bright side some stores got them early. If you wonder how we failed as a company watch how they have handled closing. As far as their culture they lie and lie and lie. Offered severance packages ti retain people during shut downs and the decide to stop paying out last week. No thought to the lives they put into turmoil. This round is just a big F U no severance. Wonder how many people bail way before the fixture tear downs….it will be a total sh1t show. Get the popcorn

There’s no wave. You either close them all or none at all at this point. They have halved the stores since September. If they keep this cr-p up they will all be gone by April.

OR…you could declare and have a federal judge tell you this. Either way it’s the same result.

Use your coupons THIS WEEK if store is still open!

Corporate greed. Bankruptcy wipes out value of stock making it worthless. Freight is still at terminals. No liquidator will buy freight they do not have in their possession.

What’s the point or benefit of doing it in waves? If the ultimate outcome is still the same?
