It looks like Macy’s will be taking over the remaining Sears and Kmart stores. It is unclear if they will operate them or close the stores. From what I understand, Macy’s is looking to get into the major appliance, hardware/tool, and lawn/garden business. Maybe they will have small sears stores inside Macy’s like they have toys’r’us? Interesting.

100% made up jc penny attempted appliances and failed miserably here is a business model if sears did it in the last 18 years dont do it
and where are the links???
Whoever might buy what's left of Transformco assets will wait for Transformco to declare Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and get the leftover assets for pennies on the dollar.
I don't believe you.
I have worked for Macy's for 19 years now.
And can assure you that Macy's is not looking to acquire anything. Infact they are in the process of shrinking there foot print. Closing stores.
LOL
April 1st is not for a few months yet.
"Lambert" guy is back.
What assets is Macy's considering? Transformco's 12 remaining operable cash registers from the 80's, or the 3 office chairs left from the Hoffman estate liquidation?
Can I ask who is making this baloney up? It's the second time around so doesn't even generate a chuckle anymore.
No OP. It doesn’t look like Macy’s will be taking over the remaining Sears and Kmart stores... Unless a person is delusional
I hear Macy's is asking for Lambert's yacht and the 5 dollars left in his piggy bank as compensation.
Macy's announced a "fleet optimizing" closure of 125 stores. The last thing they want is to buy anything that's left of Transformco. The only thing that Macy's might do, and it's probably a long shot, is to relocate to an available former Sears location in a mall where Macy's has a store that is in need of more upkeep than the Sears store. Even in this case, the Macy's stores in such places are probably those that they are closing. The only thing I could see another retailer buying from Sears are any remaining distribution centers that the company might own; Costco did this when they bought the direct-delivery facilities from Transformco right before Covid hit. Sears.com, Kmart.com maybe have a shot at something. SHO is gone as we saw this week; I had hopes that Ace or True Value might be interested in this business. The rest makes up individual sites for redevelopment, lease, or demolition (as appears increasingly likely for the Hoffman complex). In the redevelopment case, like Primark going to Woodfield, you can bet that there is a clause in the agreement that puts Simon in the driver's seat should Transformco fold halfway through a project.
Hahahaha! ROFL! Very Funny!
100% made up Kc penny attempted appliances and failed miserably Macy’s don’t wanna try that
Can you link to the source of this information?
This exact same thread was posted here months ago, and was determined to be NONSENSE. Can't you at least come up with something original ?
This is laughable. The last thing Macy's needs is to buy the carcass of Sears and Kmart or saddle their "mall based" store network with tools and appliances. You see how well that worked for Sears. Give me a break!
Source of your info??
