Im in FL, we were told from our management today we are all required to work overtime to offset the cost of VACN/Sick leave. This happening to anyone else?

@dr tell that to our leadership. HR supported them because of the term "discretionary"
The 40 Sick / 160 Vac is in the Command Media, HR policy.
That isnt it something a manager or director can just change.
@a1 what is I&C? Is this just impacting that department?
I was hired for a standard 40 hour a week job. I'm not working one minute more. You want to fire me for refusing? You don't have the ballz to put it in writing because it's illegal. But you'll make up a reason . Be careful. I've been recording EVERYTHING since day one. Every remark. Every instruction. Every meeting. Every time you thought it was just the two of us, it wasn't. I have it all.
@bg what kind of local labor department office do you have? NO company, regardless of whether it's unionized or not can require people to explain why they can't work more than 40 hours a week.
It's harassment.
This is new and sounds very odd
@b2 maybe you do.. we don't we have been told to make up sick leave, many peoples vacations have been rejected, we've been requested to work holidays, and now we have to provide justification for why we can't work overtime.
Explain offset?
We already get 40 sick and 160 vacation.
How is that ethical? They're clawing back vacation and sick leave?
Another gift from Zoiss.
Yes... I'm in FL under I&C. A few of us have already started to look for other work. This place has gone to he-l; surprised you just found out today
