I have a great example --- Karen Parkhill. As one of the top female leaders in American business, why is she departing the world's top Medtech company for a consumer tech company (Apple, worth >10x MDT)?
Geoff Martha's mindless reorg 26th months ago is much to blame for the current situation (though has been using COVID for cover). Play big, play small (basically the GE playbook); consolidate a bunch of stuff under corporate, take away OU autonomy, vastly increase operating costs as a result and then push all of R&D to lost cost regions because there is no money left for innovation and development. See how well it worked for GE...
