Quarterly results has absolutely no effect on the layoff culture at Cisco. Last quarterly results were "blow out" and what happened? Waves of LRs announced company wide - starting in Dec, rolling into January, Feb, March...With no consideration of the mental health of the workforce. The managers and directors do not get any business. We do! And they lay us off whenever it suits them keeping themselves and their cronies safe.

Cisco's C-suite has a built-in excuse for 2023. The Board won't lay a finger on them this year as every other tech company is experiencing a downturn this year.

This is how the senior leaders play the game. You'd think their most important skill is creating business growth, but it's really creating stories to tell the Board/investors why things are happening. The story doesn't have to be true. It just needs to be believable.

This can go on for many quarters until the Board/investors figure out that the senior leaders are just making their stories all up. In the mean time, the senior leaders have banked millions of dollars.

This is why waiting for someone to try to fix Cisco is a fool's errand. If you're not happy here, make a plan in the New Year to find something that does make you happy.

That’s the thing that gets me. What is the board doing? Are they not demanding better performance or firing Chuck because they get kickbacks?

Brace for impact. This ELT is violently clueless and the board is asleep at the wheel. Nothing good is ever going to come out of that "leadership" team.
