I’ve heard HO will be cutting store support positions (head office office jobs) after we get paid our bonus / profit sharing in March. The RTO three days a week allows them to collect their laptops easily. We had a round of HO cuts in 2017. Many departments in finance, HR and tech are blotted due to inefficient processes that are manual and or not documented. Expect positions to be outsourced to vendors in India.
Many senior directors, directors and managers have quit and found better roles in other companies. My contacts in HR are working on packages.
At least we get 15 weeks plus 2 weeks for every year of service from what I understand per what our hiring agreement said. Start looking and work on your resume. I think Sobeys is hiring for HO jobs, they are in Mississauga.
As for our front line workers, expect little or no wage increase.
