It obviously takes a long time for some to realize that this is no longer a place to build a career and it is not a place where your dedication to the job will be valued. Perhaps the reason is in the human nature that it is difficult to accept that someone is just a number, I don't know, but I advise everyone to take control of their career and not wait for Allstate adequately reward their hard work. Allstate will not change, except for the worse. That is the bitter truth.

You cannot “take control of a career” when positions are being moved to another country so that the job can be done for Pennys on the dollar.

No, that BS does not fly anymore. Allstate does not want career minded American workers any longer..
Stop putting out that carrot saying that if you work hard and “take control of your career” you can get ahead at Allstate…..it is a lie and a mirage to milk you until your number is called for layoff or vendor.
It depends on what you’re looking for. If you want to adjust claims for 80k per year working remotely, it’s not a bad gig. If you have further aspirations, good luck. Few make it to other business units or to team lead level irregardless or performance. They’ve never really been a pay for performance company as claimed. You still need to know someone to move up.
I was in leadership for many years. Every year we had to rate employees based upon their potential in the company and their likelihood to leave. After doing this pointless task for many years I finally asked my manager why we were doing it and he admitted it didn’t matter and nobody was looking at it or benchmarking internal talent.
I was there 17 years. It was very clearly no place to build anything. The promotions were senseless and all nepotism based. You can be a high performer, volunteer for committee after committee year after year but when it comes to gaining a promotion it doesn’t seem to matter. My new carrier wants you in a position two years max and then you move on.
I love this advice and agree that allstate is no longer a place for a career. I'm just planning my exit strategy. I'll see if I'm laid off (which I hope) in the next couple months to which I'd get severence. If not then I am going to seriously look at other jobs and evaluate everything. I'm not going to leave now right before I could be laid off off with severence lol
