Nadella: 2 more years of layoffs pain

…and the tech industry in particular, should be prepared for two more years of adversity before it can see growth once more, according to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. Nadella asserts that the COVID-19 pandemic-induced surge in demand has started to cool off, which, when combined with a global recession, has led to a "normalization," is the cause of the current downturn in the tech sector.

All is well.

There are plenty of jobs out there.

Does anyone else find the timing of these large scale tech layoffs… suspicious? Like they were intentionally withheld to help job reports for political purposes. I know, who would do that right?!

I said these layoffs would happen when people started hiring like crazy to meet what was clear, at least to anyone with a mildly functional brain, an artificial demand that would not be long lived. Every single tech company did this because they wanted to get a piece of this cash grab without the slightest thought of long term sustainability, even the people who took those jobs should have pondered the sustainability themselves.
