Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Corporate Greed

It's not just AIG, all publicly traded corps. are squeezing more, and more productivity out of the little people ie.. us peons without increasing pay. Are they prepared to be evil tyrants? If so they sold their souls. The board of directors are extremely short sighted to think this squeeze will work beyond a couple of quarters. It's a situation of us vs. them. The wealth gap is the largest since 1928, and we know what happened in 1929. The middle class is dead. The outsourcing of the middle class to third world countries is coming back to bite the same corporations with no or low sales growth. The economy is 70% consumer driven. The US consumer is tapped out and will buy less, and less the products and services from the same corporations who outsourced their jobs. Add inflation to the mix, and this chit show is coming to an end. Corporations bit the hands that fed them (ie.. middle class). Since corporations are acutely aware of this - they buy their stocks back in order to prop up the earnings. It's a shell game. Share buybacks were made illegal after the 1929 crash, and made legal again in 1982. If you're getting squeezed by management to do more work with no more pay, ask for a raise. If you don't have the gonads to ask for a raise, then simply do an honest days work and no more. This will come to a head sooner then later, so hang in there!
