The level 10 director of a team I worked closely with and respected suddenly resigned yesterday. It is very shocking to me, and I think it would be even more shocking for his team. I'm not sure if this is a layoff 2.0.

Competent director has to leave as only incompetent directors and VPs are promoted.
If he was one of the competent and good directors, he should leave. Good leaders will not survive in the toxic GF environment, one can't be a reputable person and get people to join and stay at GF and then at the same time be forced by the id--ts in the senior leadership team to lay them off and outsource their jobs. The environment within GF is toxic and will continue to be with the current senior leadership team!! If people are not "yes people" and actually have their own ideas on how to make things better, they won't fit in at GF. At the CEO level it is an environment of non-inclusion, it starts there and trickles down!!
Problem is that AME recently promoted all failed guys that are a-s lickers to directors so competent ones have no choice but leave.
Yes . Same happened in my group about 6 months ago. This director, like my director who resigned and left for a much better job, must have been a good, competent director supporting and directing his team in a professional manner. Not an incompetent reject of other companies, good for nothing senior management a-s li---r which is what we got now.
Who?
He found a different job, he quit
