Salesforce is chopping 10% of its workforce. Cisco will gladly sn---h those 10% dumped by Salesforce. As they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure.

Cisco promoted all Tom, Di-k and Harry to Sr. managers, Directors and VPs across after 2020 Cisco early retirement plan. Bumped up the salaries of everyone. Look at the profiles of those promoted Directors, they don't deserve but they all get protected with their strong internal network whereas real talented get impacted. People used sleep in their desks and spend time in Gym were promoted as Directors. In last 2-3 years management roles are filled by unqualified and junk talent. Flood gate was opened for Salesforce though they might not add any good value

And there are jerks kicking those down in every company. The leaders of those laid off at SF were as shocked as the ones impacted. If this was performance, why did those who don’t even know these people making the decisions? I know people who just got promotions, had exceeds every review and were key performers. No one really knows the criteria, but it wasn’t performance and seldom is with mass layoffs. If that many hired are low performers, then the company has flawed leadership and hiring criteria.
There are many multiple thousands being laid off, and some may be low performers, but most are people caught in a macro environment and bad leadership decisions they have no control over.
And absolutely, Cisco should hire from within first. In my opinion, it should be a rule that no job is posted externally until the internal candidates get a chance to apply and interview first. But that has nothing to do with the quality of anyone laid off from any of these companies, so don’t mix the two.

The precious post stated that the not so great feedback came from the Salesforce.
side. Should we try to help our own that were impacted first? I am sure some of the ex-salesforce from CX will hire them.
“ Do we want another V2M at Cisco? Salesforce overpaid for a bunch of new folks that they just laid off and promoted a large number of folks for barely working. I know a few leaderships there personally. According to their post, there still a lot of fat, dead wood, waste, and cancer mass left. No thanks.”
Did you work at Salesforce? Well, I did for years and closely with several who were laid off. They were great employees and Cisco would be more than lucky to have them. Salesforce over-hired like most tech companies, made some risky and expensive acquisitions and the macro economy is a mess. Stop trying to blame people for what is not in their control. Does it make you feel better because you think that means you have more control - because I promise you that you may find yourself disappointed and if so, I would hope others are more fair to you than you are being to the multiple thousands laid off at Salesforce or anywhere. Honestly, it’s not a good look to judge people you don’t know nor ever worked with.

Thanks @hko+1kwL6pjz for trying to make Cisco worse
"Absolutely offensive and ridiculous!"
Yep. You just described thelayoff.com.
I was hired by Cisco from Salesforce and know some laid off. They were excellent, talented and top performers. When I was there I received exceeds and while I was at Cisco also received exceeds, yet I was just laid off by Cisco. This has nothing to do with performance. Both Cisco and Salesforce have strenuous hiring practices, so there’s no way that 10% or even 5% of their people are trash, This is a shameful post that is cruel and kicks people while they are down. Absolutely offensive and ridiculous!
not sure what you're saying, seems like they let go of pretty talented people as well so Cisco frankly would be lucky to have them
