Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

ANOTHER layoff

That’s right. This is not the bloody Christmas announce in November. The pipeline for this quarter/half is awful. To appease the stock market, a new, bigger layoff will be announced on the next earnings call. Much of this will hit sales, and is being baked into the current sales reorg planning.

"The fact that they hired that blistering mo--n Tom Gillis who completely fu---d up the security business previously - to run the security business, tells you volumes. In addition, they hired Rajneesh Chopra - also another Security re-tread who with Tom Gillis wrecked the firewall business with their failed "NextGen" Firewall. Cisco is fu----g doomed for security with these id--ts running things."

Shows how little the current leadership knows or understands about the history that doomed us the first time around with these id--ts leading the business. "Cisco Isn't a Security Company" the demise of Cisco Security Agent. The Ivory Tower of Gillis (and Raj) was an actual thing and people dont change. They worked together to ruin the business and bolster their own resumes before...and they will do it again.

All of this right in the middle of a so-called Security Transformation (What a JOKE -HAHA!!)

Basically Cisco is F----ed and those in charge don't even know it yet. Those of us that were here when it all went down (when Tom and Rajneesh were told to leave) we can see the writing on the wall.

The next earnings call is Feb 15, 2023. I'm looking forward what could be a show. I hear there were layoffs in security which is where Cisco says said in the last earnings call they were investing. Layoffs were before the holidays too!

The market analysts have to see through this BS and ask some tough questions leadership will have to decide if they answer honestly or dance around. Investors and employees want to know leadership can be trusted. I'd rather hear Cisco say they goofed than to see them dance. Are layoffs so engrained into Cisco leadership they can't avoid them even after great earnings?

Cisco employees need to know they are really valued, not be living in fear of the next layoff, especially after celebrating a great quarter in earnings!

It was made clear in Dec that there would be additional cuts end of Jan. This is nothing new and it was ack'd by sales that they were holding as well as some BU outside of the US.

Most of Commercial AM's will be fired at end of Q2 and replaced with a small number of overseas call center virtual reps

CX Renewal Managers being laid off? How can that be when I know someone personally who just got hired this week as one? Not doubting it as much as wondering if that would even be possible if someone just got hired.

According to the rumor mill, most of the upcoming layoffs will be for renewal managers. The CX renewal manager role was a complete disaster. The good reps will be moved to inside/virtual sales, and the rest will be LR'd. I would only be concerned if you're part of the CX renewal group.

On the last earnings call they raised guidance. If the next quarter turns out to be a disaster then CR should resign (aka take a permanent leave of absence to spend more time with his family).

As an 23 yr Cisco sales rep/manager this should not be a surprise. When the forecast is way down executives start getting worried. How deep will it go and what BU’s will be impacted will be interesting to watch .

Starts self feeding itself. They basically told Sales they would be LR'd in Feb. Not the best ways to drive your current qtr.
