How’s the tech space?

Stable? Pay well? Any upcoming layoffs?

"Tech" is the one area that should be 100% outsourced. We have people who don't know what a claw hammer is designing our software and IT. We should bring all previously dropped/outsourced SALES AND SERVICE activities (delivery first and foremost) BACK in house and even expand them. But, our management has put money into a massive building in expensive downtown Charlotte and filled it with high paid "Tech" people who don't know the difference between a square and a level. These are the people who are deciding what our customers see online, how our registers work, what information is available to us in the store, and more. It's really amazing. Of course, our "top management" only cares about their bonus and everything they do is geared toward that, but they are also stupidly spending money in the wrong places. Those of us that are left will have new management within the next 2 years.

I've been with Lowe's 20 years.

Lowe's IT makes my high school efforts look professional by comparison.

Lowes is a large chain of hardware stores... it's not a "Tech" company... although they leverage "Tech" for modern business; which hasn't changed much for the past 15 years...
