Phillips 66's Rank - WSJ - The 2026 Best Companies for the Future

The Wall Street Journal evaluates how leading US corps stack up in 6 areas: AI readiness, innovation, talent readiness, financial fitness, resilience and agility.

Phillips 66 ranks #408 overall with an Overall Score of 42.2, placing it 19th out of 22 Energy companies. Its best factor is AI Rank #116, which is not bad for an energy company. However, that is the only real positive in the profile.

The rest of the ranking is weak: Innovation #436, Talent Readiness #310, Financial Fitness #304, Resilience #408, and Agility #415. Strategically, the data reads Phillips 66 as a legacy energy and refining business with limited future-readiness breadth. AI awareness alone does not offset weak innovation, resilience, and agility.

A company that spends more time managing its image through such useless rankings - yes, the company ensures they are included in these things — and ignores the basics and improving themselves.

Everything is for show at Phillips 66. Everything is a major production and a facade that is intended to hide the truth: PSX is an underperforming company with poor management and has little going for it other than a solid market environment and inherited scale

Not a bad ranking for such a sh-t company. Phillips 66 is a company of the past. The management team know it, the market knows it. Management are just plundering what they can while the board sits idly by allowing them to pay themselves 40% more than market. Shareholders be damned.

LMAO - better than expected! AI rank seems awfully high, IMO... unless of course the measurement is made by total requests made to Copilot to "make this email pop."
