Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Woodside employees joining XOM any suggestions?

Here in Houston HR likes the staff to be young from top schools. Now they will face challenges as XOM looking for gas. XOM knows something is about to occur and gas assets are more fungible than oil in today’s market.

When WTI reaches $55 a barrel we will witness some serious consolidation that must occur while Trump is in office.

Laying off Australians is very expensive. So XOM will lay off Americans and other high cost countries first. Very strong unions in Aus. If there are any Expat Aus left in XOM, you will be cut unless you are hipo or on US payroll. The good News, XOM has already significantly cut its Aus payroll in Melborne, so their is room to grow in Perth with Woodside employees.

Woodside time to research what a PIP is and how it affects team dynamics and mental health & wellbeing

Woodside Houston employees and contractors are in for a surprise this coming week. They were operating under the false assumption that they (Woodside) had 25 years of viability and sweet and cushy job security prospects. Now some not so attractive contractual and project issues will come to life…Meg induced several of these issues and primary reason for quick exit..

If we do acquire Woodside, the Bangaluru Technology Center in India can place Indian employees on Expat assignment in Australia to support the LNG assets.

XOM is not keeping pace with the industry in developing efficient LNG technology, and the same is true for clean hydrogen. EM research is far behind competitors.

i thought they lay off our EM folks and they will transition to woodside 1 Jul. Now that we are buying woodside, are they coming back before they leave? what a strange turn of events

Best hope is that EM offers a package to Woodside at the merger.

EM is transitioning jobs to India where engineers will work for 1/10 to 1/8 industry average salaries.

I would suggest that you find a job somewhere else if you can, you will be really disappointed coming here from Woodside.
