AI Exam for screening new candidates?

What’s the deal with this new practice of screening candidates with an AI cultural fit exam? What do they even ask on that thing?

@e5 EM treats experienced hires like second‑class citizens. We had an incredible experienced hire who pushed hard to introduce efficient, modern practices and they made her life so difficult she eventually left

@e5 your experienced hire will likely either quit or be MLRP out of the company in less than 5 years. This culture hates non-conformance and actual skill and thought.

When I had the rare opportunity to bring in a couple of experienced hires, I was forced to include some rando XOM folks as interviewers. I found a few highly qualified candidates with relevant experience, and the randos wanted to reject them, since they were not "typical XOM." I was able to overrule them and basically said if I wanted typical XOM people, with no relevant experience, I wouldn't need to hire externally. News flash - being a home grown generalist has no value in roles needing specialized talent. And it's always a good thing to dilute the toxic cult with non-believers.

Google does the same thing. All companies seem to do the same things now a days.

@br Thanks for clarifying. I always thought the ranking process worked like this: they write everyone’s names on little pieces of paper, toss them across the room, and whichever one lands closest to the manager’s desk becomes “top talent.” The rest just fall in line accordingly.

I have copilot rank my team based on the questions they’ve asked copilot.
