I'm going to start sending the upper management one of these articles everything they get on our case about WR+ sign ups.

Today's news explains why they've been so desperate to get sign ups.

Customers thought Beyond Plus was a scam!

We had people with long strings of service badges from Beyond orders who would not even bother looking in the stockroom at 53. More often than not, the items were there. I was later told by someone that the employee "didn't know the POG system very well". Furthermore, she knew about the scam the FEM was doing with the gift cards, and therefore got more than her share of the tossups over the walkies, One wonders how she does now that the FEM got busted and hauled out in cuffs for the scam.

The better question is as a customer why would you want to sign up when it is widely known the store won't be around much longer.

You're helping the company compile a database of email addresses, phone numbers & spending habits. This can then be shared or sold to the highest bidder.

Back in the day and when BBBY was all about customer service, management was all about getting “Beyond Orders” when we didn’t have or carry something in stock. Those fabulous morning rah rah huddles as the MOD would ask everyone of us how many Beyond Orders were we going to try and get that shift. Most associates would answer one or two, the ambitious ones would say five, when it was my turn I would reply with “I don’t know, I’ll get what I get”. Oh how that would get the serious manager’s ire going. Got confronted about my answer and how it wasn’t a team player type of statement, I told that manager when this company is willing to put more zeros into my paycheck figure, then I’ll get more serious about Beyond Orders, otherwise I’m just a simple hourly.
The irony of all of this? I lead the pack in Beyond Orders per shift and I was only part time, even beating full timer’s and managers. I would even turn over a Beyond Order customer to a manager I liked to help them with their numbers. It wasn’t rocket surgery.

While I understand the reason of loyalty behind the program, it has been tough to get when the store is empty and they question if the store is closing. Some people have even questioned if we would even be here in a year. Unless they are saving enough that day to make it worth it, most people are just not interested and now that the holidays are over there aren't many full carts.

I’m actually pretty good at selling it to the customers, so I don’t mind it... and my managers get super excited whenever I get them. A few of the customers I’ve signed up have become regulars so that loyalty is what they’re going for (in my opinion)

There is NO point! Another example of a useless corporate decision.
