Until recently, FAANG companies were the holy grail for any software engineer. Is that still true, even with all the changes and layoffs that happened in the past year? I'm considering where to apply and I was looking at some FAANG openings but I'm not sure that would be as great of an opportunity as it once was. Apple seems to be the only one that still has the same appeal.

So the "FAANG" family of companies, with a minor exception for Microsoft as they seem to have a better work life balance, are all just sweatshops where you're fighting for survival all the time, some are suited for it and others are not. If you value a work life balance then it's probably best not to involve yourself with these organizations and I am not saying they're bad but not for everyone.
Cloudflare PAN Zscaler Crowdstrike are all hot places in terms of job opportunities but you need real tech skills to have a shot
good luck in the new year
"you’re not good enough to get a job at a FAANG."
Oh another great paradox here. You're quick at passing a totally arbitrary judgment without realizing you're not good enough yourself at discerning facts from random baseless opinions.
FAANG is an acronym created by Wall Street in 2013 that identified high-growth stocks. It was a term used by investors.
Facebook - Horrible work-life balance and layoffs
Amazon - Horrible work-life balance and layoffs
Apple - Horrible work-life balance
Netflix - Horrible work-life balance and layoffs
Google - Low pay compared to a similar role at another company
I'd only use the term FAANG if you want people to know you're an imbecile
Don't consider AWS. It's a shithole, where you will be even less respected than at CSCO.
FAANG were hot because those stocks were wildly appreciating.
Take that away and are they still appealing?
Only GOOG and AAPL are still cool places to work.
The salary, perks, and ego boost of working for one of these companies is not enough? Now you want a 100% guarantee there will be no layoffs or economic downturns on top of that too?
Would you like this delivered on a silver platter?
