It's just a gig to get their hippy, happy-clappy friends onto a $5,000 per day contract to sell Cisco the snake-oil of wellness, gratitude, and mental health... Besides that, it's just performative to give the illusion of caring.

Chuck has hired some very inept execs in the past eleven years but the one thing Cisco excels at is layoffs. It happens on schedule regardless of the state of the business. And all the talk of caring for employees is just that; talk. Once you receive the notice, based on the timing you lose your healthcare, life insurance and the income to provide for your family.

Then there is the talk of the mental state of employees. It is all a facade by Robbins and HR. I have seen many that were cut having great difficulty in dealing with the layoff. Having been there myself, I talk to them and encourage their effort in keeping whole and focusing on the next steps. Robbins may have been a passenger on Air Force One traveling to China this week but he is useless for your future.
