We will see more and more people announcing retirement in coming days as Volunteer separation package was offered to almost all in GF who are turning 55 . Heard it is 6 weeks package and in great demand as this is last chance to leave GF with some severance. It is offered every year since 2017 but acceptance rate is increasing in last three years.

We all got “in lieu of warn” it’s called the 90 day non working period. You get paid in full (even OT if your shift worker). After the 90 days we get our individual severance payments and an $8k payment for us to use or not use for Cobra benefits. We can pocket that 8k if we choose.
Also after the 90days we can start collecting $508 max from unemployment for 26 weeks
A ton were forced to retire in the layoff and don’t count in the WARN numbers. They must be the ones who got in lieu of WARN payment
Fake News. Definitely not six weeks, considering previous packages were 3 -6 months.
This most recent Layoff = 16 weeks minimum 90days non working and 4 weeks severance.. Plus unemployment. Not sure early retirement qualifies for unemployment
Only six weeks? That’s such a joke. If I were 55 and ready to retire I’d stay and hope to be on layoff list to get much more paid time off
