Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

Feeling unmotivated and discouraged

I'm feeling unmotivated and discouraged these days. With all the cuts happening, it's hard not to feel anxious about my own job security. They expect us to work harder than ever, but none of us can know how long it will be before we're let go. It seems like it could happen at any moment, so I'm just waiting for the axe to fall all the time. It's exhausting.

We all know management team is full of junks, fools and a-s lickers in GF. But let us thank these junks as they had no choice but stay and keep getting promoted in GF due to their desired qualities. We needed them so that new talents like us get training and go to better companies. all talented individuals Went to top ones like Intel, TSMC and Samsung and left these failed, fools, biased, racist and stupid guys to ensure they keep GF alive for us so that GF can be used for training of young engineers like us.

I am quite quitter and just waiting for interview results. Done with GF he-l. My manager is sad as he did not get the severance package and seems now he is offered volunteer separation which will is terrible. Atmosphere in AME is bad and my module is worst. No one cares as everyone sees VP, directors and managers as failed guys who are failed in every aspect and surviving in GF due to their strong licking qualities.
Hate this place.

It’s miserable in my area. People are struggling through. Productivity at all time lows. It’s like walking dead…. Yes some work is getting done but it’s the same. You can tell everyone is thinking and feeling the same.

I was laid off, thought I was fairly safe. No one is safe at the end of the day. Without a sustainable business path forward, GF will continue to slash costs and bodies. Things are going to get slower for the semiconductor industry next year, is GF positioned to absorb it? 🤷‍♂️

I'm working as hard or even harder as before. What I no longer do is follow up issues that are not my responsibility. I no longer volunteer for assignments. I no longer offer advice to junior members even though I know the answer. I do my job above and beyond but only my job.
