Leaving after holiday shutdown

Who intends to quit just after the holidays? From what I hear, there will be a lot of quitting.

If you're not in sales, you should know that the exodus will come shortly after the mid-year bonus advance cut-off date, which is fast approaching.

I expect CR might cancel the mid year bonus advance, or reduce it significantly, though... so telling my friends in Cisco not to wait - get on the job hunt now, as the advance is not likely to come through.

It’s hard to trust a company when your leaders consistently tell you that you are exceeding expectations and never give any feedback on how you need to improve, only to then be laid off. I could never feel I’m getting the truth about where I stand which is too stressful, so I’m not pursuing any of the positions at Cisco. Will look elsewhere.

I got LR’d out and I’m not bothering to look for a new gig in this culture. It’s just too hard to take. They’re making a lot of mistakes and they lack ethics. I have been lied to my face so many times I’ve lost count. Bottom line, working here is degrading my mental health and this move of encouraging you to beg for another job after going through the psychological abuse of how they’ve handled it… nope. I’m done.

Got LR'ed but still collecting a paycheck till March. Already secured another job and will be starting in 2nd week of Jan. I will back at Cisco after 2yrs to catch another LR train, then be paid handsomely to leave. Rinse 'n Repeat. A fool and his money are soon parted, that's Cisco in a nutshell.

Accepted new gig for more salary and equity and have been cleaning up laptop over holiday break and can’t wait to tell my manager on Tues

Why would you spend time over the "holiday break" to "clean up (the) laptop"? It only takes a few minutes to wipe the entire drive before shipping it back to the asset team or handing it over to your manager. Poor time management.

Also, if you really worked for Cisco, you'd know we have Tue off. We don't return to work until Wed. Many people are taking Wed-Fri off to add another 5 days off to their year-end break.

I think all you guys claiming to quit after the holidays are full of sh-t. And you who said you already did it was probably because you were notified.

Oh the intention is here, very much so. But I'm like an addict that just can't say no to easy money so I'll probably stick around.

Many many people are preparing to do this. Maybe not right away, as interviews elsewhere will pick up as we exit the holidays. But it won’t take long because the market is hot (don’t listen to the BSers). It will be a mass exodus.
