Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

People managers, you all okay?

Just checking in on you all. My leadership, that is typically very "real" in meetings totally stuck to the script for this announcement. Later on someone let slip leaders weren't even supposed to share they were provided talking points. What is happening here?

The people managers in PI Ops deserve to be stressed. That group is a sh-tshow managed by mo--ns.

For those of us in the middle, we are being told what changes are happening.

No input into any decisions but we have to deliver the messages.

For the people managers that will hear bad news next week I feel more for them than anyone else.

No we are not okay. We found out end of day Monday. Same way you did, with an email. We weren’t really given any talking points. There were some pretty vague FAQs. They told us not to forward or share those - not to say we weren’t given any talking points. And in addition to being affected ourselves, we have to field all questions and complaints. I know you all hate middle managers on here but I think we eat the most of the s-sandwich.
