It’s a new year in just a few days…I have to give it to Belk and Belk’s leadership, surviving Covid, inflation, bankruptcy, c-suite shakeups, loosing two CEO’s, bad public relations, closing the fulfillment center and laying off 300 people, and the list goes on…BUT THEY DID SURVIVE! And what will the new year bring? Maybe something positive, let’s hope for the best, all this negativity is unsettling.

belk corporate in Charlotte is literally a ghost town. Have you ever tried calling the corporate number? Literally nobody there.
Shilly Duvall, Shilly Long, Shilly Winters, Shilly Miscavage, Shilly Berman which one?
@2atp. It's probably shilly because I don't think anybody that's being realistic sees a future for belk.
Belk is the greatest retail company since CEO Don Hendricks is at the top. Belk will buy Amazon or Macys in 2023 and take it to highest quality retail stores you have never seen before! You believe it I have a beautiful flagship Belk stores in cold freezing on Mars or hot water ocean front Belk stores to sell you right now. What a stupid question and why are we keep asking these stupid questions about Belk future again and again and again?
I think Don Hendricks will be replaced
He is one of the worst CEO’s in the retail industry
The negativity is unsettling but unfortunately that's belks reality. And it does not change anything to be in denial about it. Belk is a hellhole!
If it went bankrupt tomorrow nothing in the world would change.
Sears failed. JCPENNEY failed. Kmart failed. Stein Mart failed. Stage stores died. Kohl's is failing. The C-Suites of all big department store retailers has become a game of musical chairs as the same people chase after ever fewer positions. In this economy, even the likes of TJ Maxx, Ross, and Target all have declining sales.
Large stores that aren't Costco, Walmart (and Sam's), Target, maybe Macy's/Dillards, and probably Nordstrom and Saks plus a handful of discount retailers really have a reason to exist anymore. The pandemic ki---d off all the retailers that were going to die soon anyway, and Bidenflation will finish off the weak hands. The winners? They all have great logistics, and Belk don't have it.
