I was LR’ed in 2016. Is Cisco still not giving Annual reviews and not telling employees where they are ranked in their organization?

Anybody with a brain could put together a simple Excel to calculate IPF. I always had mine open and within less than a second of being told the number, I knew the IPF they had used. I could then respond appropriately.
I was told I exceeded expectations at my 6 mth and still was laid off. Doesn’t seem to be about performance.
Agreed. I was LR'd back in '16 as a senior SME on a team of top performers. It was about age and "cost" since I had 15 yrs experience & the wages that go along with that. I was replaced 6-mo later with a 5-yr exp grade 8 who was told "to just figure it out".
Then, while working at a company worse than Cisco--yes, they exist--being micromanaged to death, I got a call w/ an offer to come back to Cisco working on a team that was partnering w/ my old team and needed my SME beyond what my replacement could provide to the new team. The offer was better money than before, so I came back. Now I have an even bigger target on my back due to being 6 yr's older and making more money than before, but for as long as I'm on this project that's important, I guess I'm pretty safe. If I get moved to a different project, or this project loses its priority/funding, then it's all over for me and I'll get another big severance check.
Between the last severance check I banked, & using it to max out my ESPP purchases each 6-mo which results in 15-40% stock profits each sale, I've got a pretty nice nest egg to fall back on if the job market is bad. And, I've gotten good at taking any job, good or bad, quickly to minimize my no-income periods and keep looking for work to find a better job rather than remaining at a bad job. Cisco pays well enough, has a great severance package, and treats you pretty good while you're an employee, if you don't care about the risk of LR like I don't. It's pretty easy to deliver what my boss asks for and I don't have to work hard to do it and I'm not micromanaged. I love having a boss I only talk to via Webex and who doesn't know what time I start each day and what time I end each day, but only cares that I deliver on my work load.

Also now IPFs are visible where disclosure was optional before.
I've known my IPF every year. When was it "optional"? My spot in the team ranking, on the other hand, I've not known since 2011. I'm assuming it's above the mid-point because my IPF ranges between 1.25 - 1.5.

This site is very therapeutic for me who have been fooked over by Cisco in the past. Just re-emphasize the correct choice I made leaving and not having to go through this sh-t over and over again.
Live is moving on just fine.
There are require performance and development discussions every 6 months (Talent Space). Also now IPFs are visible where disclosure was optional before.
