There is no reason to wait for the next round of layoffs especially since we now have the luxury of looking while we still have a job. Not only does it look better on the resume, but that way we don't put ourselves in danger of depleting our savings. On the other hand, I know quite a few people who are still waiting... I guess they think that they are safe ---- I hope that is not the biggest reason why they are not already looking for something new.

I wouldn’t wait to look. I was laid off 2 weeks ago but I got over 6 full months of pay to leave. So I have the luxury of having 100% free time and energy to interview. Don’t wait too long, as there are now 220 former GF employees actively hunting in the capital region. With the coming downturn, jobs are going to get scarce. Good luck
