Merger- What happens to Mechanical

I’m guessing if and when the merger happens that Jeremy will finally retire and Grace replaced with the NS woman of the year in Mechanical. Merger can’t come soon enough so we get back to some good leadership in Mechanical.

They’ll phase mechanical out in the next 10 years. You will see contractors doing 75% of mechanicals work.

On NS the management will be cut mid level to the bone as it was in UP. But before that they will have to move or bump to keep a job. And then the data oh the data they will have to evaluate the craft jobs so in future it WILL BE CUT.

@op if you think it’s going to get better you probably should start looking for other work. They made sure to get rid of anyone with knowledge or common sense so all that is left is their minions that are completely clueless.

If for ONCE you think this merger is a good thing for UP or NS, I want what your smoking. Only people that will gain from this are the UPPERS.

There is no good leadership left and the merger won't do anything but accelerate cutting jobs on both railroads.
