Everyone I know from 40 to 45 lately has been moving to lateral or even jobs they're overqualified for. Has anyone in this age range been able to move up in the last year or so?

I am in that age range and am enjoying my 0% raise more each day! So happy to contribute to the continued enrichment of our executives! More please!
stuck at the same CL for many years. moving roles, learning new stuff, mantaining my rank group against many odds but same answer. No raises, just couple of gift cards at the end of year.. atta boy.
Promoted, 40s.
The only way is to get a class action lawsuit put together. There will be data that supports your inquiry. From promotions, to pay increases it's beyond time that a group of people take back control
@e8 It really hurts you little clowns to know that someone over 50 is a competent leader and contributor, doesn’t it?
Very difficult to use job titles and roles as your indicator of a +1 CL promotion at the beginning of the year, even in executive roles as can be staffed with non-execs who are being ‘tested.’
Having said that, there is a retirement eligible log jam impacting people in their 40s.
@c0 finally made it to 24? Well done
@OP CL bump Dec 2025 early 50s
@OP yes. Hard work is rewarded, slackers are not
@bv I wish I could follow your post but too confusing.
You deal with uncon somehow anything is possible. You could be on your way out due to over thinking everything and not staying in your lane. Then due to a passed ring you kissed you get promoted over people that you have no business even being over. Now you feel invincible and bring your kooky brand to a working team that has really no direction due to the past guy was friends with the same people you kissed the ring of. So yes it’s possible.
@bk many people? Most people top out at 27 in the old system. Now probably more likely to stay lower.
Of course people of that age are being promoted…CL29 happens around 45 for many people
Unless you’re the former India LCM
Yes so many people in AMP organization (EMTEC).
