Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

Instead of worrying, look for a new job

I understand colleagues who are now very worried about whether and when new layoffs will happen and whether they will be affected. There is no longer any job safety here and that is quite clear.

However, it makes no sense to wait in fear and uncertainty when there is life outside GF.

Are you polishing your resume and looking for a way out?

Yes! Guys please update resumes and start applying. Don’t get caught on your heels. If GF has demonstrated any stable trend it is that it’s very unstable. Have your contingency plans ready and activated

Don’t forget, after the 90 days no working notice you qualify for 6 months of unemployment plus whatever the severance amount is.. I’m contemplating taking a full year off just to heal from the trauma of GF

Agreed. They have at least until June like laid off people for when money company gives will run out so if unhappy look for a new job but if you can get by with 3-5 months payment then wait until laid off and don’t worry
