@3zfp+1kj5Vx0g I know you are bitter, but show me one multi-national oil company that has not had issues. They all do because it is a very dangerous industry and especially years back. I am glad you are happy with your current job, but you need to move on.

But if you ended up at Oxy doesn’t that make you incompetent too?
I get it. Your arrogance offsets your incompetence.

Oh, and as a follow up, look at the spam reviews on places like Glassdoor. 90% of the positive reviews just state ‘Great Company’ without any facts, examples, evidence or discussion points. The negative ones actually go in to detail and provide evidence etc.

You’ll see from some posts that many current Oxy staff are more than willing to ignore the companies safety track record, the disasters in places such as North Dakota and California (among many others - see Wikipedia for a start) and the close call with going under in 2020 and just spew positive words without any evidence or facts. This is the fanboy mentality at a company that falls far behind its competitors in terms of pay, culture and reputation.

As a good marker, many of the professional and respected companies often have their dead wood end up at Oxy. We had 4 from Chevron that were totally worthless get snapped up by Oxy in Houston and West Texas. It’s pretty much a clearing house for the incompetent and people worth anything quickly move on to better things, myself included. I got out quickly once I saw what Oxy was. Best thing I ever did and I’m very happy here at Chevron.

Good place to work. Good culture. Great people. Management that actually cares. Yes, raises, promotions, good bonuses, and perhaps LTI depending.

Oxy has been a great place for me to work. Always had good and fair managers and the perks are nice. I started for less money than at my previous job, but went past my previous job on salary within a few years. Get nice bonuses and LTI, and now I am in a much better place financially than if I had of stayed at the other companies I worked for. That is my experience, but like everything else it is different for everyone.

Are you a real engineer or one of those IT-tech people who call themselves engineers?

Oxy pays well and has nice bonuses with average raises in normal times. There is also significant opportunity for growth and movement if you ask and you are well thought of.
