Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Sears hometown website is redirected to sears.com?

I used to check sears hometown store prices before I go there

but I just found www.searshometownstores.com is redirected to sears.com

so sears hometown and sears.com are merged?

Um, wow.....that is........definitely interesting, for an, um, Sears site. Won't describe it here, but Check on the poster below's link. I have never seen a Sears site (or Sears, FB page) quite like that one.

One of the websites for a Sears Hometown in Kansas. Odd, to Say the least:

Differences between the numbers of stores in the press release (115) vs the number on SearsHometownStores.com (125):

Arizona: 1 / 2
Arkansas: 12 / 13
Kansas: 5 / 6
Nevada: 0 / 1
Pennsylvania: 3 / 4
Rhode Island: 0 / 1
South Dakota: 0 / 1
Texas: 8 / 10
Wisconsin: 4 / 5

(I am not including the five company-owned small-format stores in these counts, even though those stores are also listed at SearsHometownStores.com. It's not clear to me whether these will remain open or are also going to liquidate.)

That Bermuda store has never been listed at either SearsHometownStores.com or Sears.com. Do you know if it will survive?

115 seems right as that adds up on their release at the bottom of the number of stores left per state

The sales are underway in Alabama (6 stores), Arkansas (12), Arizona (1), California (6), Colorado (2), Delaware (1), Florida (4), Georgia (5), Iowa (3), Idaho (2), Illinois (4), Indiana (2), Kansas (5), Kentucky (5), Louisiana (2), Maryland (1), Maine (2), Michigan (1), Minnesota (1), Missouri (3), Mississippi (5), Montana (1), North Carolina (3), Nebraska (4), New Mexico (3), New York (3), Ohio (1), Oklahoma (2), Oregon (4), Pennsylvania (3), Puerto Rico (1), Tennessee (1), Texas (8), Vermont (2), Washington (1), Wisconsin (4) Wyoming (1).

One part of the press release says 115 stores, another part says 126.

It's back now, though I don't know why. The store list is unchanged from before the bankruptcy filing, except for removal of one store in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. They don't seem to have bothered to remove other stores that are known to have suddenly closed in the past few days.

That's because the hometown stores are getting dissolved. Goodbye to them.

Dude, we already went over this last Week. The redirect has already been discussed and analyzed, in another thread.

Not just that, but the Hometown stores aren't listed in the Sears store locator.
