Stop violating company policies before whining anonymously.

Lost a receipt for the hotel - the same hotel booked via a VMware system. Exact price as advertised, no extras. You would think I violated the Geneva conventions!

Calling the hotel to get a receipt sounds simple until you realize that they don’t want to bother with those requests, so you need to call 4x until you get someone who wants to help you.

Some things in expense reporting are inefficient, wrong, and waste people’s time. Has gotten worse. The assumption is that the employee is committing fraud, our job is to prove otherwise.

First world problem, but it could be better. Don’t think Broadcom is directly involved, but I’m sure VMware was given direction to get their financial sh-t together, and sh-t rolls downhill.

I’m looking forward to expense quality toilet paper when Broadcom decrees everyone must work 9-5 in the office.

If you are frustrated because you are forced to follow the company policy, imagine us, having to sort through your requests.

We are frustrated with entitled employees who think they should get everything without following any company rules. Hope they quit to reduce the frustration they cause us with the violations and expectations. Rules/policies/guidelines exist for a reason. They are needed for the well-being for the company and you.

BC conspiracies are just that and fake. No, Broadcom does not have any ability or right dictate cell phone approvals and they don’t check your improper submissions

So it’s frustrating because you’re expenses were previously approved even though (by your own admission) your receipts didn’t comply with policy, but now there’s a little more governance they’re being rejected?!

Maybe you should be thankful you’ve got away with it since you started working at VMW however long that has been.

Own it and sort your receipts out so they comply with policy (which isn’t there to make your life difficult but to meet the requirements of taxation in whatever region you’re in) instead of griping about how ‘it’s so frustrating’, it’s not difficult and thousands of employees manage to do it every week without any problems!

Also sorry to burst the conspiracy theory bubble but it’s most likely nothing to do with Broadcom as there’s always a focus on tightening compliance of this sort of thing towards the end of the financial year but don’t let that stop you seeing Hock Tan in every single little tiny thing you don’t like!

It does feel that way

They have new people following the rules to the T. Just follow the instructions and it should get approved. I don’t have any issues with expense approvals because I follow the policy

BC is running the show behind the scenes and it is quite visible. People are itching to claim $1000 for wellness allowance and they changed the policy you can only claim $250 per quarter which means maximum you can claim is $250 as the game will be over after first quarter.
