Hello, I am a new hire (December) that was hired onto the SIRT team. I was wondering if anyone has heard about Information Security layoffs?

Thank you for the heads up, that's all I needed to know.
You’ll be laid off end of January. The list is being prepared and new hires top the list
Because it would be preferable to stay in a remote position which has a higher salary. If we are all going to be laid-off, it makes sense to make preparations--contact the manager, let him know you accept the offer, onboard, etc. You can't just abruptly start, things can take weeks to process. Hence the foreknowledge being useful, anticipation helps prepare you.
If you are so confident about your position and don't care for feedback, why post such a question on this site? To show off about the longevity position?
As for the questions:
- ) Figured I would be fully remote for up to a year and a much higher salary.
- ) I have a position that is a guaranteed hire if VMWare does go through with massive layoffs.
- ) I'm not the one destroying VMWare, I'm not the one who sold you out and acquiesced to the Broadcom merger, look toward the upper management and shareholders to vent your grievances. Don't hate on the little guy for trying to scry their financial future lol.
- ) Trying to determine if it is worth it to start working early, was given assurances that we are relatively safe as a team
- ) Posted it before work hours lmao, salty as he-l.
- VMware will benefit if you find a job elsewhere. Bye
People like OP are the reason for the company’s downfall. Why join a company, not contribute to its growth and instead post on such forums during work hours? The money wasted on your salary could be spent elsewhere with better ROI.
Start looking for something new dude. You might last up to a year, not much more. So relax, pretend you’re doing work and actively look.
Also, why the f(#k would you be so d-mb as to join VMW knowing the situation…?
Why did you join this month knowing very well that there is a transition? Why post this question when you knowingly took the risk? Assume you will be on the January layoff list and proceed with your life.
